The story about the serial killer who joined a dating show (Google him, I’m not gonna write his name here) is a well-known story among people who watch an unhealthy amount of crime videos on YouTube (like I do.)
When I heard they were going to make a film adaptation, I got curious about how it would turn out. It wasn’t as creepy as it was, in my opinion at least.
I initially thought we’d get to know the people that we lost because of this monster, or how he’d commit his crimes, even, and also the people who almost became entangled with him – like the Woman of the Hour, Cheryl Bradshaw,
There was nothing much in this film. The lead actress was the star, but she didn’t have any role in any of the killings or his capture. She was just a woman looking for a date at a gaming show and almost had it with a serial killer. Even then, it wasn’t the best depiction of it.
I wish we had more background as to why she decided to go on a dating show. Her past relationships and all. Maybe she really is just an actress who’s looking for work, but wouldn’t it be interesting to see a hint of how she looks at relationships?
We ended the film thinking, “Wait? So, what was her role in all of this?”
