It’s my first time spending summer elsewhere outside the Philippines. Summer usually means the thermal sensation reaches 45 C and that means my electricity would spike up thrice than what I usually have.
Rainy days on a summer also feel weird but they inevitable. Too much heat need some release, and to be fair, we need some water, too.
My weird and controversial take is that the summer in Argentina is worse than ours in the Philippines, here’s why:
- When the sun sets, the temperature lowers in the Philippines. In Argentina, the peak heat reaches until 7 PM. Same heat, same humidity.
- I don’t know why, but the heat in Argentina makes me feel suffocated, and the fact that the temperature drops quickly in the morning. From wearing a sweater early in the morning to being near naked in the evening isn’t something I’m used to…
- They don’t usually use an electric fan. We do have a ceiling fan in the computer room but none in the kitchen and the bedroom so when you wake up in the morning it feels like a sauna! My boyfriend is now convinced to buy a fan we can bring in between rooms!
Today, the highest expected temperature is 24 C! On a summer day! And in the next few days it’s going to reach 35 C again. The constant changes in temperature is driving me crazy. And I’m still working on adapting to the temperature even after months.
That is my controversial take. How is the summer in your country?
