What strategies do you use to cope with negative feelings?

  1. Sigh as heavy as you can. Sigh loudly that someone next to you would hear it under their earphones.
  2. Tell yourself “it’s probably not their day.” We don’t get to be ourselves 100% of the time. So instead of throwing that slap, think about the moments you didn’t get slapped when you were not being your 100% self.
  3. Smile and walk away. Some people are just not worth your time.
  4. Drink cold water! This can aid with hotheadedness (not sure if it’s clinically-proven, but just think about it as a placebo!)
  5. Sing something relatable. Mask your frustration with song lyrics.
  6. Talk a walk or do some squats. You need something to put all of that energy to.
  7. Take a nap. Nothing’s better than letting your mind and body rest and let the anger subside naturally.
